Please do not send your resume to Port Jobs or the Airport Jobs office. Port Jobs does not hire directly for the Port of Seattle or Sea-Tac Airport/Seaport tenants.

Employment in the Skilled Trades

Does this sound familiar?: "You can't get a job without experience, and you can't get experience without a job."

An apprenticeship is different. It's the best of both worlds - you gain valuable experience on the job while you attend classes to learn more about your trade. What's more, in most training programs you pay to learn. In an apprenticeship you earn while you learn. Your wage increases as your skills do, until you "journey out" (in 3 to 5 years, depending on the trade). All programs offer benefits and pension plans.

The Apprenticeship Opportunities Project (AOP) is a free, not-for-profit program sponsored by Port Jobs and operated by Apprenticeship and Non-Traditional Employment for Women and Men (ANEW). AOP can help you enter and succeed in apprenticeships and trades-related jobs.

Click here to learn more about AOP. Or contact the AOP office at 206.381.1384 for more information.
